Last Saturday we hiked Lookout Mountain. We drove up to the top and trecked along the side of the foothills, where we could get a great view of both downtown Denver and some fourteeners.

The hillside was a bit scrubby, but there was plenty evidence of late Spring and Summer beauty to be found--which means we'll need to return for another visit.
We ended the hike at a super cute gazebo, where we marched around in circles singing. It was part of the Boettcher Mansion. You can see Betsy's joy in the picture at the top of this post.
While Betsy came close to drifting asleep in the car we made quick stop at Buffalo Bill's gravesite, where Jeff jumped out and took a few pictures.

As we drove down the mountain, we headed to Golden. There were people biking up the mountain, which seemed totally insane to me, but good for them. The mountain seemed to be crawling with people. I imagined the view from above must be pretty entertaining, all these tiny human beings crawling up this giant mountain. Makes me love Colorado--everyone seems to want to go outside and play.
Every hike we take ends with the desire to explore more. Not a bad problem, not a bad problem at all!
